2013: The Year In Review

January
Hutch started wearing 2T clothes, at age 8 months. Honey went ice-skating. Daddy took the Young Life guys snowboarding. Honey asked Jesus to live in her heart!

February
We took at a trip to Morehead City to visit Nat’s brother “Uncle Nate,’  Aunt Suellen, and cousins Pierce, Creed, and new baby girl Selwyn! We went to our 1st circus as a family. Hutch said ‘mama’ and got his 1st tooth.

March
Drew & Honey did their first 1-Mile Race together. Honey won. Drew got to go to the ACC basketball tournament and watch the Heels almost win. Hutch fell in love with Mexican food.

April
Drew turned 35. He also helped 27 senior guys pull off Operation Tall Grass where they drove riding lawnmowers to school. Watch the video here. Natalie went on the Church of the Redeemer women’s retreat.

May
We bought a house with a basement and got a ping-pong table! Many friends helped with the move! Natalie also found 3 copperheads in our yard during our first month in Green Valley neighborhood. Hutch turned 1 and got his 1st buzz cut. Drew’s sister Abby received her Masters in Teaching!

June
Nat turned 33. The Dr. thought Hutch’s head was finally round enough for him to stop wearing the helmet. Drew took his Campaigner group of graduated senior guys on the ManTrip and sadly sent them off to college. He misses them dearly. We finished the month with our annual Hill/Craft family beach trip to Ocean Isle.

July
#Merica. Honey turned 4 and celebrated with a Bug Party and she got a sweet Skateboard Swing. We vacationed at Myrtle Beach with the Leonard fam and Honey started swimming. Drew’s brother Blake released his 1st iPhone app, its called ‘Timely’ and it's awesome.

August
We took on #ProjectJericho and brought the basement walls down to make 1 large room in our basement for youth group and Campaigners. We also visited Abby & Allan in Charleston. Drew’s dad built a beautiful farm table for our dining room!

September
We survived 13 kids under age 7 in 1 house during our small group beach trip. Honey started preschool. Drew’s cousin Kinsley moved in with us as she’s doing the Greensboro Fellows program through our church. Drew also started leading worship at Redeemer.

October
Drew took kids from #NWYL to Rockbridge YL camp. Honey changed her costume 6 times on Halloween night.  Natalie’s dad was sadly diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer and is doing chemo now.

November
We celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary and hosted a Young Life thanksgiving dinner using the ping pong table as a banquet table. Honey asks us to tell her stories every night about animals getting hurt, but not hurt too badly.

December
Exciting news! In addition to Drew’s role as a pastor at Redeemer, he has also gone on part-timestaff with national Young Life.  We also found out that baby #3 is due in August!
