Thanks for stopping by our little website...We are loving Colorado, but honestly the transition has been more difficult than we anticipated. Natalie has been working temp jobs and at Pier One as she applies and interviews for full time positions. She has some good opportunities, but we are holding out for a job where she is really able to use her gifts. I am working a few nights each week valet parking cars. School has been harder than I expected, but I am learning a ton and enjoying my classes. My biggest challenge is learning Greek so I can read the New Testament in the original language. I’m also taking Old Testament, Mentoring, Church History, and Biblical Interpretation.
Living on campus has quickly immersed us into a community of other folks in our same season of life. Natalie is hosting a Bible study for Seminary Wives at our apartment each Tuesday. I host TLC,"Tuesday Lunch Club" for guys only. We’ve also started a group we’re calling the “M-Woks”, “Married With-Out Kids” and gave them a little taste of the south by making “homemade ice cream” for our first shindig. This upcoming Saturday, a bunch of us are going to the Rockies baseball game together.
I've put together an ultimate frisbee team for the Denver Seminary Intramural League. I recruited mostly former D1 atheletes, so we are the early favorites to walk away with the coveted "Intramural Champion" t-shirts. At seminary, we write all our papers in Turabian format, therefore our team is called "The Turabian Knights."
A few weeks ago, Nat and I were able to go on a double date to see the opening of “The Little Mermaid” off-Broadway musical before it opened in New York. This past weekend we went fly fishing for our first time and both caught a fish! It was a great day as we ended the night watching the Dawgs finish off Alabama in overtime!
There is a trail behind our apartment that runs alongside the Platte River and leads to over 200 miles of biking and running trails. We’re enjoying taking advantage of the Colorado outdoors and snowboarding season is only six weeks away!
If you pray for us, we are grateful! Here are a few things we need prayer for:
- A full time job with health benefits for Nat
- Wisdom on which church we should join
- Self-discipline for Drew with school work
- Deep friendships
Booyah and Blessings,
Drew and Nat
