Sobbing

A month ago I was checking my email and opened a shocking and sad message from one of our friends in Athens. He was asking us to pray for his daughter Katherine who had suffered a sudden brain hemmorage and was in critical condition.

Natalie was sitting across the table from me in our kitchen. I looked up at her and just started sobbing. She didn't know what was wrong or what news I had read. It was as if all these emotions flooded me at once. My heart broke for Brooks and Kim (our friends and Katherine's parents) and for Jay, Katherine's husband. Jay and Katherine were married the same day as Nat and I, and even though we don't know them well since they live in Los Angeles, it was a blatant reminder of how this could have happened to us. I just held Nat and prayed. I prayed thankful prayers for the days God has given us together, and selfish prayers for many more. We prayed for the Arnolds and for miracles and soon found out that many more folks were praying across the globe. In the last month Katherine's website has had over 140,000 hits. Here is just one of the many News clips that has covered the story:value="http://www.e-zekiel.tv/flvplayer.swf?file=http://www.e-zekiel.tv/flvideo/1702.flv&autostart=false&showfsbutton=true" />

This is Kim's blog (Katherine's mom). A rare gift to be able to read the intimate insights of a mother going through tragedy. Don't rent a movie tonight. Sit with your spouse and read this blog out loud. Start at the bottom, the older posts, the beginning...and be blessed by a brutal faith from a family who loves much.
