March 8th and April 7th: Go HEELS!

I have been silent long enough. Its been five days since we took a beating in our house from the Dookies. I had Young Life last Wednesday during the Dook vs. Carolina game, so I turned off my phone during Club and rushed home afterwards to watch it on a friends TV- I confess- I now have TiVo envy. We watched the game in under an hour, but it felt like forever. It was painful, like an hour long indian sunburn. I must admit that before the game even started I had my doubts. Without Ty Lawson, we just aren't a complete team. We're a good team, but Lawson makes us, as Dickie V would say, "something special baby." Maybe if we had Bobby Frasor we could have pulled it out. But let's be honest, we all know it: Quentin Thomas should not be on the floor. I read Wes Miller's book about an insider's take on UNC basketball last season. He speaks higly of Q, and I'm sure he's a nice guy, but he is not Carolina caliber. Its easy to be a critic, and I didn't want to jump on the "get rid of Q bandwagon," but come on Roy, he's killing us softly. Let Ginyard run point til Ty gets back. Speaking of Lawson's return, as long as he's back by March 8th for the game in Cameron, i'll be happy. I'm confident that with him running the show, we'll get sweet revenge. We bought a 6 month cable deal for $24.99/month on November 8th. The reason we chose that day was because it was 6 months prior to Monday night, April 7th: the night we'll be cutting down the nets and celebrating UNC's 6th national title.
Tonight I was playing basketball at the gym and had one of the greatest moments of my life. I was guarding Mike, a 6'6 guy with lots of game. He went up for a layup and my Reebok pumps caught fire and I actually blocked his shot. The reason I know how tall he is was because after I STUFFED him, I asked him how tall he was. He wasn't happy to tell me, but I told him I needed to know so I could tell my wife that I blocked a guy that was that tall.
It was a sign. A ray of hope. In my 5th day of despair after the loss, it was a promise that the season is young and that the Heels will rise again. I heart hansbrough.

Quentin Thomas is, categorically, the worst non-walk-on basketball player in the NCAA.

You don't have Reebok Pumps, do you?
