Yellow Ribbons

On Friday I skipped class and went to a "Yellow Ribbon" training seminar from 8am-5pm. The Yellow Ribbon Campaign is a suicide prevention program that started here in Colorado and is now active in every state and 47 countries. The couple who taught my class, Dale and Dar Emme, started the program after losing the 17 year old son to suicide 13 years ago. Colorado is the leading state for teenage suicide and Littleton (where I do Young Life) is the most affected city in the state. Now that I am certified as a trainer/presenter, my job is to make others aware of the realities that surround us and help link teenagers with those who can help them.
