Labor Day Laboring

Instead of taking the day off, we decided to climb a small mountain with some friends on Labor Day. One of the highlights of my day was talking to my little friends Jay and Nara from Korea about American Idioms. After saying "This hike is a 'piece of cake," I realized they might not understand what that meant. But Jay told me that he knew what that meant because some kids in his class at school had taught him...and that he knew what it means to have "ants in your pants." Nara said that "her head was in the clouds" and we laughed about how silly the American language can sound to those not born here.
