Addiction
I am an addict.
An addict of many things.
Crunching ice; espn.com; playing Texas Hold 'Em on my phone; checking my email; wearing a hat; eating ice cream & Baked Lays & a glass of ice milk every night; etc...
Recently my addictions rose to a whole new level due to the cruel temptation of my former friend, Steve "Sly" Schley. As a drug dealer often offers that first hit for free, Steve so eagerly loaned me his 1st season of "Prison Break" on DVD.
I've previously watched shows like Lost, Alias, and 24, and have felt the adrenaline of addiction before...but this show took it to a whole new level.
The good news is that my marriage survived my poor decision making skills that involved sacrificing sleep, conversation, and studying...all for a worthless 19 hours of discovering the obvious,(Warning: plot spoiler coming) they break out of prison.
As we quickly approach approach parenthood I am beginning to realize that I cannot make such childish decisions any more. So, for the sake of accountability, I am publicly declaring a personal ban on watching any addicting shows until finals are over in May. Then, and only then, will I maybe convince Nat to let us catch up on 24.
