The Weekly Update: Sweet Spots

Something doesn't feel right about the fact that life is too busy to communicate this stuff face to face or over the phone, so instead, I keep you in the loop via a blog. For all of you I haven't called recently, here's the skinny on us. Spring Break starts on Friday, so hopefully we can have more down time to actually catch up...

1. Sad news: I found out this week that come June I will lose my apartment manager job due to budget cuts. This was disappointing, as we love living on campus (especially with the baby on the way), but also exciting to see what God has up his sleeve. We are open to staying on campus if I can find another side job to help pay the rent, but also praying about the possibility of moving off to a cheaper place. We'll keep you posted.

2. Worse news: A freshman at Arapahoe (where I do YL) suddenly passed away today due to a blood clot. Martin played ultimate with our team last semester and many of the kids I know have known him their whole lives. It was a hard day, but a real blessing to have the freedom in my schedule to be at the school and walk through real life with these kids.

3. Good news: Natalie had a great night tonight counseling clients and feels encouraged that she is getting to use her God-given gifts to love on others. She is an awesome counselor, I should know, as i get to enjoy her Godly wisdom and insight on a daily basis. I'm so thankful that she is living in her sweet spot.

4. Tonight we had "Sex, Dating, and Leprechauns" night at Young Life. Every Wednesday night I can never fall asleep because I'm so excited about what I get to see God doing in my high school friend's lives. I feel so privileged to get to share God's truth and daily life with these kids. I hope I get to love on high schoolers for the rest of my life.

5. Our old friend Rebecca Hove is coming to visit us this weekend. Living so far away from friends who knew us "back when" is not always easy and its just plumb refreshing to relax with those who know us well. I love the phrase "just plumb..."

6. I got my 37 page paper on James 3:1-12 back and graded and I'm so thankful to be over that hump with a decent grade.

7. Today (Thursday) is my Mamaw Pumpkin's birthday and my Papaw and Mamaw's 59th wedding anniversary! For all of you who don't know what a Mamaw is, just check wikipedia. Happy B-day and Anniversary to my punkins!

8. Baby Hill, aka "Quattro," is moving more and more, and so is Nat's belly!

What a sweet season of life...
